Cube Crush is an XR-based spatial defense game designed for the Apple Vision Pro device. Players dodge incoming cubes from all directions, delivering a dynamic and immersive experience. This internal project was conducted to explore and research the development process of apps and games for Apple Vision Pro.
To maximize immersion while ensuring safety, we implemented a meticulous design that considers awareness of surrounding objects. By starting the target generation within a narrow field of view directly ahead and gradually expanding it outward, we minimized potential risks and ensured users could adapt safely to the XR environment.
We explored the potential of various technologies, including Vision Pro's eye-tracking, hand-tracking, and spatial sound, and actively integrated them into the game.
We optimized graphics and performance to fully leverage the Vision Pro's hardware, testing the device's limits.
We designed arcade-style game graphics that stand out clearly from surrounding objects in a Spatial Computing environment, perfectly suited for a shooting game.
We incorporated user test insights into the level design, considering interaction difficulty and fatigue in XR environments. Based on feedback from both new and experienced XR users, we adjusted the difficulty and designed a game experience that maximizes immersion.
Before the Vision Pro was released in Korea, it was first launched in several countries, including the United States, on the App Store, making it available to global users. After the official launch of Vision Pro in Korea, the service was also made available on the Korean App Store.
